Hyderabad : Officials from the Drugs Control Administration (DCA) discovered an Ayurvedic medicine known as 'Stone Crush Syrup' circulating in the market with a false claim on its packaging stating that it can cure 'Kidney Stones'. The syrup was confiscated from a medical store in Rangareddy district during an inspection.

The DCA stated that such misleading advertisements violate the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, which prohibits the promotion of specific drugs for treating particular diseases and conditions. In a targeted operation on Monday, May 27, DCA officials identified the deceptive assertion on the Ayurvedic syrup label regarding its efficacy in treating kidney stones.

The aforementioned Ayurvedic syrup was identified by DCA officials at a medical shop in Kothur Village, Kothur Mandal, Rangareddy District. The supplies were seized as part of the inspection. Officers involved in the raid included Anvesh, Drugs Inspector, Shabad, G. Ravikiran, Drugs Inspector, Rajendranagar, and P. Chandrakala, Drugs Inspector.
