A similar incident has taken place in Bengaluru. A woman was brutally murdered and her body was put in 20 pieces in the fridge. (Saturday) in Bengaluru. According to the police, the victim has been identified as 29-year-old Lakshmi. Her husband's name is Hemant Das. But for the past few days, she has been living alone.

According to the police, the murder took place 15 days ago and Mahalakshmi's body was cut into pieces and kept in a 165-litre refrigerator. After the neighbours noticed foul smell emanating from the house, they informed the family members. After they saw it, they came to light. Police are currently investigating the incident.

What was the case about?
Shraddha Valkar (28), a resident of Vasai, was living in Delhi with her boyfriend Aftab Poonawalla. On May 18, 2022, Aftab killed her and chopped her body into pieces and kept it in the fridge. The body was later dumped in a forest in Gurugram for disposal. The case came to light on November 14, 2022.

The police had filed a charge sheet against 6 persons in the case. It said that even while living with Shraddha, Aftab was in touch with other women on the dating app 'Bumble'. They met on the same app. There was an argument between the two after they realised that he was in touch with other women. On May 18, 2022, Aftab strangled Shraddha to death, then chopped her body into 17 pieces and hid it in a fridge for nearly three weeks. Over the next few days, he disposed of pieces of the body at different locations in Delhi, the charge sheet said.
