Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has arrested three persons for allegedly selling ganja in Pimpri-Chinchwad. The police recovered 33 kg of ganja worth Rs 18 lakh from the accused. According to the police, the accused smuggled ganja from Dhule and sold it in various parts of Pimpri-Chinchwad city. The arrested persons have been identified as Surendra Kumar, Santosh Tripathi, Ashok Gulabchand and Pawan Sanu.
According to the police, the accused were selling ganja in various parts of Pimpri-Chinchwad city, IT hub Hinjewadi and educational institutions. The police was informed about this. Assistant Police Inspector Vikram Gaikwad, along with his team, was patrolling in Hinjewadi and Mhalunge areas when they were taken into custody as some persons were moving around suspiciously. They were questioned. The police recovered 16 kg of ganja and 17 kg of ganja from the accused. According to the police, the seized ganja is worth Rs 18 lakh.
The accused used to sell ganja in Hinjewadi, which houses educational institutions and an IT hub. It has once again come to the fore that even highly educated youth are addicted to cannabis. The action was taken by the anti-drug squad of Pimpri-Chinchwad.
