Eight people, including six students, were killed in the incident. The incident took place in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. All the students are studying in class 11. Meanwhile, the state government has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

According to India Today, all six students, studying in Class 11, had gone to the college to appear for the exam today. While returning home, it suddenly started raining. The students decided to stay under a shed next to a tree. Two other students were also injured in the incident. However, electricity supply was disrupted in the area. Eight students were killed in the incident.

The local police rushed to the spot on learning of the incident. Their bodies were also sent for post-mortem. Their families were also informed. According to PTI, eight people were killed in the incident. One person is slightly injured. This includes six students. All of them were students of Class 11. The Chhattisgarh government has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased, Rajnandgaon Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg said.

According to The Print, seven people were electrocuted in Chhattisgarh's Jahangir Champa district on Sunday. An 11-year-old boy was killed in the incident. Six others were also injured. All seven had gone for a picnic. While returning from the picnic, it suddenly started raining. They decided to stop under a tree. But, unfortunately, the power went off at some point. One died.
