New Delhi : Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Singh has ordered the execution of author Arundhati Roy and a former professor from Kashmir under the strict Unlawful Conditioning(Prevention) Act for allegedly making seditious speeches at an event in 2010. Saxena agreed. officers gave this information on Friday.
The FIR against Roy and Sheikh Showkat Hussain, a former professor of the Central University of Kashmir, was registered on the orders of the metropolitan justice in New Delhi, officers said. There was no immediate response from Roy and Hussain. The case was registered on October 28, 2010, on the complaint of Kashmir- grounded social activist Sushil Pandit."
Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, V K Saxena, called on Arundhati Roy and former professor of transnational law, Central University of Kashmir, Dr. blessing has been given to make Sheikh Showkat Hussain under Section 45( 1) of the Unlawful Conditioning(Prevention) Act.
Roy and Hussain had made seditious speeches at a conference held under the banner of' Azadi- The Only Way' at the LTG Hall on Copernicus Road then on October 21, 2010.
