Bangalore International Airport Limited(BIAL) said that the Kempe gowda International Airport(KIA) in Bengaluru witnessed its loftiest-ever periodic passenger business and weight figures during the fiscal time(FY) 2023-24. BIAL, the driver of the field, said a aggregate of37.53 million passengers covered through KIA. Besides 439,524 metric tonnes(MT) of weight passed through the field. The field provisioned to 32.86 million domestic passengers and 4.67 million transnational passengers during this period.

KIA operates breakouts to 108 destinations, of which 80 are domestic and 28 are transnational routes. Field saw an increase in air business movements(ATMs), with a aggregate of 245,880 ATMs recorded during FY 2023-24. FY ‘ 24 also witnessed the launch of several new airlines and routes, including Air India Express, Alliance Air, and Fly 91 on the domestic front, and Manta Air, Maldivian Airlines, and Thai Lion Air on the transnational front. Internationally, new routes to Munich(Germany), Dhaalu(Maldives), Phuket(Thailand) and Denpasar(Indonesia) were introduced. On the other side domestic front, the field has expanded its routes to include Salem, Shivamogga, Aurangabad, Jharsuguda, Ayodhya, Hirasar Rajkot, Nanded and Sindhudurg. According to BIAL, KIA’s weight recorded a total out turn of 439,524 metric tones in FY ‘ 24, reflecting a notable 7.1 increase from the antedating fiscal time.

Transnational heftiness reached 266,186 metric tones, flaunting a 4th growth over the former time, while domestic heftiness endured a strong 13 rise, totaling 173,338 metric tones in comparison to the former time.
