Poet, writer and former IPS officer Keki N. Daruwala died on Thursday night in Delhi after a prolonged illness. He was 87-years-old. Daruwalla was considered one of India's finest English writers. He was known internationally for his eloquence. His last rites were performed at the Parsi Rest House near Khan Market on Friday.
Keki Daruwala joined the Indian Police Service in 1958 as an officer of the Uttar Pradesh unit. He had progressed to become Special Assistant on International Affairs to the then Prime Minister Charan Singh. He then joined the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He was promoted to the post of secretary.
