The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) is a strategic alliance between the US, India, Japan and Australia. The alliance was established in 2007. According to experts, the main undeclared goal of the formation of the 'Quad' is to curb China's growing influence in the Asia-Pacific region i.e. the maritime area between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. At the same time, the main purpose of this alliance is to protect other countries in the Asia-Pacific region from Chinese domination. The Quad not only focuses on security but also other global issues ranging from economic to cyber security, maritime security, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, climate change, pandemics and education.
