Thane: In a shocking incident, a security guard was stabbed to death in Thane's Kolshet. The police have arrested a security guard of the building in connection with the case. Investigations revealed that he was mentally unstable.
There is a shopping complex in Kolshet. The body of Somnath Debnath, a security supervisor, was found on the terrace of the building. His jaw was broken. He had sustained injuries on his head, face, neck and back. Tension prevailed in the city after the incident. This has created panic situation in the area. A case of murder has been registered at Kapurbawdi police station. The case was being investigated by Thane Crime Branch Unit V (Wagle Estate).
The police started searching for the accused on the basis of the CCTV footage. The building's security guard, Prasad Kadam, was seen accompanying Somnath to the building. On the way back, he was alone. That's why he was killed. A team of senior police inspector Vikas Ghodke of unit five finally traced Kadam and arrested him. Somnath had abused Prasad. There were arguments between them earlier as well. Prasad has confessed to killing Somnath with a sharp-edged weapon. According to preliminary investigation, Prasad was mentally unstable. Prasad is being interrogated by the police.
