Mumbai: Senior IPS officer Sadanand Date has been appointed as the new Director-General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). This decision has been taken by the Modi government. He is the officer who showed unparalleled bravery during the 26/11 attack. The Modi government has given him a big responsibility.
Sadanand Date is a 1990-batch IPS officer of the Maharashtra cadre. He is a very capable officer. He is currently the head of Maharashtra's Anti-Terrorism Squad. He has earlier served as Commissioner of Mira Bhayandar, Vasai, Virar and Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Crime Branch.
