Hyderabad: A New Era of Convenience for Families; In a bold move aimed at streamlining access to essential services, the Telangana government has announced plans to issue digital cards to every family in the state. This innovative single card will not only facilitate the availing of ration but will also provide access to medical care services and other welfare scheme benefits.
During a review meeting at his residence on Monday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy discussed the implementation of family digital cards with senior officials from the Medical and Health and Civil Supplies departments. The chief minister emphasized the necessity of these digital cards to assist ration card holders in taking full advantage of welfare schemes, which include vital medical services and various state-sponsored programs.
As part of the initiative, the government plans to launch a pilot project in one urban area and one rural habitation in each of the state's 119 Assembly constituencies. The aim is to test the functionality and acceptance of the digital cards before a wider rollout. To ensure a successful implementation, Chief Minister Reddy instructed officials to study the benefits and challenges associated with similar digital card initiatives already in place in states like Rajasthan, Haryana, and Karnataka.
A comprehensive report detailing these findings will be submitted to guide the Telangana government in its approach. One of the noteworthy features of the family digital card will be the inclusion of health profiles for each family member. This data will be instrumental in providing tailored medical services and ensuring better health outcomes for families in the future. The chief minister also highlighted the importance of allowing families to update their card details, enabling the addition or removal of family members as necessary.
With the introduction of digital cards, the Telangana government is set to revolutionize the way families access essential services, making it easier and more efficient for citizens to benefit from state programs. As this initiative moves forward, the promise of a more connected and supportive welfare system for the people of Telangana is within reach.
