Pune : A special summary revision of electoral rolls with photograph 2024 has been announced in the district. The Collector and the District Election Officer have appealed to the voters who have the old MT series black and white voter ID card from outside the district and who do not have the voter name of the district to participate in the special summary revision of the electoral roll and submit an application for registration of new voters.
This was done by Suhas Diwas. During the Lok Sabha elections, some voters were found to have old black and white voter ID cards in the MT series. They wanted to use this as proof. He could not vote as his name was not in the voter list of Pune district.
Such voters should submit a fresh application for voter registration and register in the respective constituency of the district. The programme has been announced based on the eligibility date of 1st July 2024 in the district as per the directions of the Election Commission of India and in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections.
The consolidated draft electoral roll under the revision initiative will be published on July 25. The period for receiving claims and objections is from July 25 to August 9, 2024. During the period of receiving claims and objections, special campaigns will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays as determined by the Chief Electoral Officer of the state.
During the revision drive, programmes like enrolment of new voters, deletion of names of dead voters, migrant voters, etc. will be carried out.
A special campaign will be run for voter registration in the college to increase the participation of youth aged 18 to 19 in the electoral process in the district.

The District Collector has also appealed to all eligible citizens who have not registered themselves as voters to register themselves as voters.
