After a 42-day hiatus, protesting doctors resumed partial duty at various government hospitals in West Bengal on Saturday. The doctors have decided to serve only in the essential and emergency departments instead of the outpatient departments (OPDs). Kolkata's R. जी. "We have resumed duty today." Our colleagues have started returning to their respective departments only for essential and emergency services from this morning. This does not include OPDs. Otherwise, another round of protests
We will wait for seven more days for the administration to fulfill our demands like justice to the deceased woman doctor and removal of the state health secretary. The agitating doctors said they would resume the second round of 'cease work' agitation. The doctors have been protesting since August 9 when the body of a woman doctor was found at the RG Kar Hospital. The main demand of the agitating doctors is justice to the deceased doctor and removal of the officials involved in the case from their posts.
