Zomato co-founder and Chief People Officer Aakriti Chopra has resigned with immediate effect after a 13-year-long stint in the food delivery sector, the company informed the stock exchange on September 27.

This has been an incredibly enriching journey over the last 13 years. Thanks for everything. Aakriti Chopra joined Zomato in 2011. At first, he worked as a manager. After that, he made rapid progress. She became VP (Finance and Operations) in 2012. He assumed the position of CFO in 2020. He was promoted to co-founder in 2021.

Akriti was born in 1988. She hails from Gurugram and studied at DPS, RK Puram. She worked at PW for three years before joining Zomato. He has been honoured with several awards. He featured in Forbes India's 30 Under 30 list in 2017. She was awarded the Woman of the Year Award in 2018.

In the last few days, many high-level officials of Zomato have resigned. Chopra has resigned. CTO Gunjan Patidar had resigned in January 2023 after co-founder Mohit Gupta left the company. At the same time, Zomato's new venture head and former food delivery head Rahul Ganju and Intercity Legends service head Siddharth Zanwar also resigned. However, Rahul Ganju and Pradyot Ghate have been brought back to Zomato for business growth.

Five people have left the company in two years.
Chopra is the fifth officer to resign in the last two years. Apart from Patidar, Pankaja, Mohit Gupta and Gaurav Gupta have also resigned from the party. Chadha had resigned in 2018 and Gaurav Gupta in 2021.
