A senior official in New Delhi stated that engineers from the Indian Army have constructed a suspension bridge that is 150 feet long over waters in north Sikkim to restore connectivity to villages affected by heavy rains. The engineers from Trishakti Corps built the bridge.

A senior official stated that the relocation has provided relief to residents who were isolated in these regions. The army engineers proved their technical skills by successfully constructing a foot suspension bridge in under 48 hours, despite facing difficult conditions with water flowing at speeds over 20 knots, according to an Army official.

Officials stated that the bridge will help reconnect with those areas and make it easier to move people and provide relief supplies to locals.
