An Indian couple vacationing with their family tragically drowned at a beach near Hambantota in southern Sri Lanka, as reported by the police on Wednesday. The victims were a 35-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both Indian citizens and married. The incident took place on Tuesday while they were visiting Sri Lanka with their family at Kirinda Beach.

Although the police did not disclose the victims' identities, they stated that the couple was rescued from drowning after being swept away by powerful waves. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save them, they did not survive after being taken to the hospital.
