They were freed after a night-long rescue operation and subsequently hospitalized. The accident transpired when the officials and vigilance team were inspecting the mine's operations.
Upon their return from the inspection, the elevator chain malfunctioned, causing them to be trapped in the 1800 feet deep mine. Local authorities swiftly responded, dispatching aid such as food, water, and medicines to the trapped individuals. A medical team was also summoned, and after an intensive 11-hour rescue operation, all 14 individuals were safely rescued and transported to the hospital for treatment.
