In a woeful incident, a Malayali couple was killed during a thievery at their hearth stone in Muthapudupet, Avadi then on Sunday night. The departed were identified das Sivan Nair, a Siddha croaker, and his woman Prasanna kumari, a school teacher. The assaulters took off with one hundred rulers of gold.
According to primary reports they entered the couple's home posing as cases. Sivan Nair was operating a clinic conterminous to his hearth stone at Muthapudupet Gandhinagar. The neighbours insinuated the police about the incident on hearing a huge commotion from the house still, by the time law enforcement arrived at the scene, the perpetrators had fled. The police are probing the matter. The victims' bodies have been shifted to the government sanitarium for necropsy.
