Manoj Jarange Patal has once again demanded Maratha reservation from Elgar. Although the hunger strike has been paused, a deadline has been set until July 13. Manoj Jarang has cautioned that the government will face challenges if the reservation is not granted by the specified date. He has now shifted focus to OBC leader Chhagan Bhujbal. There have been alleged discrepancies in a couple of districts, possibly arising during the Lok Sabha elections in North Maharashtra.
Responding to this, Manoj Jarange mentioned, "Chhagan Bhujbal lacks the understanding required for his position within the constitution. His self-serving actions have caused chaos. I have obtained the original print of the 1884 census from the Hyderabad Gazette. It shows that the entire Maratha society is Kunbi. Is this information false? The current reservation you have is not secure."
The OBC and Dhangar communities are against Maratha reservation, with leaders from both groups uniting in opposition. In light of this, Manoj Jarange Patal has made an appeal to these leaders. He stated, "OBC reservation is inevitable. They are not receptive. They will need a wake-up call soon. A significant intervention will be necessary. We need to be strategic together (Marathas and Dhangars).
This is an opportunity that must be seized. If Dhangar Marathas, Muslims, and Dalits join forces, we can gain power. Otherwise, we will pursue OBC reservation. The unity between Marathas and Kunbis is evident from the records. We should act decisively and claim authority." "If ST reservation had received similar support, we would have achieved reservation by now. We did not view you as adversaries.
Our intent is not to offend any leader. We are resilient individuals. Do not heed the leaders. Perhaps in a year or two, the Dhangar community may secure ST reservation. Failure to grant reservation by the 13th will lead to significant challenges on the same day," he cautioned. Chhagan Bhujbal mentioned that four commissions and the Supreme Court have ruled against Maratha reservation. In response, Manoj Jarange remarked, "Decisions should come from the President.
What is the relevance of the commission to OBC reservation? The commission has rejected reservations exceeding 50 percent. Yet, we are currently at 50 percent reservation." "No matter the obstacles, I will persist and engage with the OBCs," he affirmed. "We advise OBCs and Dhangars to disregard Chagan Bhujbal's directives. There is potential for political progress.
