Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the victory of the National Democratic Alliance, led by his Bharatiya Janata Party, in the recent elections. Leaders from neighboring countries extended their congratulations, while the United Nations opted to await the completion of the vote-counting process.

Modi received well-wishes from Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. However, a spokesperson for United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres declined to comment until the counting process was finalized.
