Prior to this, he served as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh until the BJP nominated him to contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Vidisha constituency, where he emerged victorious by a margin of 8 lakh 17 thousand votes.

In the latest cabinet lineup under Modi's leadership, key positions include Amit Shah as the Minister of Home Affairs, Rajnath Singh as the Minister of Defense, Nirmala Sitharaman as the Minister of Finance, S. Jaishankar overseeing External Affairs, and Nitin Gadkari heading the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Additionally, J. P. Nadda, the BJP President, has been appointed as the Minister of Health.
