Gadchiroli : Gadchiroli district, which is known as the last district of Naxal- affected, backward state, has seen the winds of change in the last three years. Due to the high quality of iron ore on the hills then, industries are also being established grounded on this. The police was also very successful in eradicating Naxalism. But education and health facilities have been neglected.

Thus, it's a picture that the administration has failed to bring about the asked change in the district. The population of the district is around 14 to 15 lakhs. The literacy rate is 74 percent. still, due to the lack of quality and employment acquainted advanced education, the number of jobless youth is adding day by day.

There are 393 schools including primary, secondary and advanced secondary. It includes 93 ashram schools and further than 30 thousand students are studying. But there are no government or private institutes then for advanced education in engineering, medicine etc.

A many days ago, the medical college was blazoned. Still, it has not yet been enforced. On the other hand, indeed after a decade of establishment, Gondwana University doesn't feel to have set up its rhythm. So then also the number of people taking admission by name is more. The problem of Naxalites has been largely answered in the last three years. The recent election without any violent incidents is an indication of the improvement of law and order then.
