In Vasai, heavy traffic congestion has become an issue on the routes leading towards the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway in the direction of Gujarat and Mumbai. Since Sunday morning, streets have been filled with vehicles. Vasai is connected to the eastern part of Mumbai Ahmedabad National Highway, resulting in significant traffic jams daily on the highway heading towards Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Vasai Virar, Mirabhainder, Gujarat, and other areas.
Recent road repair work in the Thane Ghodbunder area has led to the closure of heavy vehicle entry on the Thanyatil road. Additionally, ongoing efforts to concrete the highway have contributed to a deterioration in the transportation system on the highway, leading to a surge in heavy traffic congestion over the past two days.
This congestion has left vehicles stranded and passengers facing difficulties. Since 6:00 am on Sunday morning, images have shown vehicles forming long lines from Mahamargavar Versova bridge to Virar, covering a distance of 15 to 20 kilometers. Traffic police are managing traffic control, but the sheer volume of vehicles is causing road blockages and complications.
