Mumbai: A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stalking and molesting two girls at Chowpatty in Mumbai. The accused allegedly raped the minor girl. The girl became traumatised after the incident.

According to the complaint, the 17-year-old girl and her friend had gone for a walk at Chowpatty on August 8. At that time, a stranger was following them between Novotel Chowpatty and Ananda Cafe. They were both terrified. Finally, the accused came close to the victim and raped her. The girl and her friend panicked after the incident. So I didn't tell anyone. The police have registered a case under Sections 74 and 78 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act. Police began the investigation by scanning the CCTV footages in the area.




Considering the seriousness of the case, Senior Police Inspector Daya Nayak of Cell-9 of the Crime Branch instructed the police team to immediately search for the accused. After receiving information, police reached the spot and arrested the accused. His name is Sohan Vishnudev Paswan (21) and he confessed to the crime after being brought to the Crime Branch's cell. He was handed over to the Juhu police. Police has arrested the accused. The accused is a native of Bihar. He works in Mumbai.
