Nashik is currently hosting meetings among leaders of various political parties to ensure safety and security during the upcoming Lok Sabha Election in 2024. The police have apprehended a group responsible for producing counterfeit documents and false sureties to facilitate bail for individuals accused of various crimes.
The anti-terror squad from the Nashik Road Police Station made the arrests, with individuals including Avadesh Narayan Ramadhar Upadhyay, Nitin Natha Mahale, Arun Punjabrao Garud, and Sachin Kailas Shirasath being taken into custody. During an investigation at Sai Lodge near Nashik Road railway station, suspicious documents were discovered in possession of the suspects, including multiple Aadhaar cards with different names and numbers, along with counterfeit ration cards and revenue department stamps.
Further inquiries revealed a network of individuals involved in creating fake documents and providing false bail bonds across courts in the Nashik district. The operation was carried out under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, Deputy Commissioner of Police Monika Raut, and other law enforcement officials.
