The National Democratic Alliance government's swearing-in ceremony will be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7.15 pm on Sunday. Key portfolios such as Home, Finance, Defence, Foreign Relations, Road Development, Information Technology, Railways, and Education will be retained by the BJP. Alongside Modi, around 30 individuals from the BJP and its affiliated parties are expected to be sworn in as ministers.

Negotiations have been ongoing among the constituent parties of the BJP and the NDA to form the cabinet. Despite the Janata Dal (NC) seeking the Railways portfolio and the Telugu Desam requesting Information Technology and Road Development portfolios, it is probable that they will be appointed as Ministers of State for these roles.

The major component parties, Janata Dal and Telugu Desam, are likely to receive at least 2 and 4 Union Ministerial posts, respectively. Additionally, other parties such as Shiv Sena Shinde group, NCP Ajit Pawar group, Janata Dal (D), Rashtriya Lok Dal, Lok Jan Shakti Party, Apna Dal, Hindustan Awami Morcha, Jana Sena, and the Republican Party will also have representation. Although many of these parties have requested a minimum of two ministerial posts, it is anticipated that each will be allocated one ministerial post in the initial phase of the cabinet formation.

Furthermore, Congress leaders have yet to receive invitations for the oath ceremony. Key BJP leaders such as Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, S. Jaishankar, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnav, Bhupendra Yadav, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mansukh Mandaviya, Sarbanand Sonowal, Kiren Rijiju, Biplab Deb, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Jyotiraditya Shinde, and Prahlad Joshi are expected to retain their positions as Union ministers. Former Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh, Basavaraj Bommai of Karnataka, along with Sanjay Jaiswal, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Jitin Prasad, Sanjay Bundy, and Suresh Gopi of Thisur, who secured a BJP seat in Kerala, are likely candidates for cabinet positions. Prataprao Jadhav from the Shinde group, Praful Patel from the Pawar group, as well as Narayan Rane and Udayanraje Bhosle from BJP, and Ramdas Athawale from the Republican Party are also under consideration. H. D. Kumaraswamy (JD-D), Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal), Jayant Chaudhary (RLD), Chirag Paswan (LJP), Jitan Manjhi (HAP), Lalan Singh, Ramnath Thakur (JD JSR), Rammohan Naidu, Harish Balayogi, and Daggumala Prasad (Telugu Desam) are expected to be included as well.
