Palghar : In Palghar district on Monday around noon, houses collapsed at several places in Jawhar, Vikramgad and Talasari talukas due to heavy rain along with gale force winds. Due to the strong winds, electricity poles fell to the ground in some places, disrupting the power supply, while trees fell on some roads, obstructing traffic.
Four houses collapsed in Kochai Patil pada of Talasari taluka due to heavy rain. An elderly woman was injured in this accident and due to the collapse of the walls and roofs of the houses, there was a great loss to the houses along with the household materials. Trees have been uprooted in many places due to stormy rain in Jawhar and Vikramgad areas and there are reports of loss of lives.
Talasari area received heavy rains with strong winds on Monday afternoon. However, unseasonal rains caused chaos in Talasari weekly market. Houses of many tribal farmers in Karajgaon, Manpada, Kodad, Kochai, Bormal, Anvir, Savaroli, Kurze, Zai, Sutrakar in the taluka were damaged by flying and a large number of trees were also uprooted.
