A passenger was arrested by the Pune police for allegedly smoking in the washroom of an IndiGo flight. Naqshab Jahangir (38 years) The passenger has been identified as Rose Apartment, Okhla Vihar, New Delhi. All passengers are thoroughly screened before boarding. IndiGo airline security official Vishrantwadi has lodged a complaint with the Lohgaon Airport police. According to the police, smoking is prohibited in the airport. The announcement was made before the flight took off. IndiGo flight 2618 was coming from Delhi to Pune.

Nakshab Jahangir was smoking a cigarette in the washroom of the aircraft when the incident took place. Cabin attendants Gini Sachdev and Nilima found him smoking a cigarette. He informed the captain. The captain then passed on the message to Tushar Andhare, the security manager at the Pune airport.

The plane landed at the Pune airport. Thereafter, the police and fire brigade reached the spot. They arrested Jahangir. A pistol was also recovered from his possession and seized by the police. Police sub-inspector Navnath Kshirsagar is investigating the case.
