In Pimpri, firing incidents have occurred within the Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate's jurisdiction, similar to those in Pune. An episode unfolded in Talegaon Dabhade where thieves attempting a burglary were confronted by a police sub-inspector. This event occurred on Thursday around 4 pm and caused a commotion in broad daylight. Following the firing, the culprits escaped on a motorcycle.
The ongoing construction of Police Sub-Inspector Sham Shinde's residence near Limb Phata in Talegaon Dabhade was disrupted by an unexpected visitor outside a vacant bungalow in the neighborhood. Donning a face mask, the suspect's presence raised suspicion, prompting Shinde to inquire about his intentions. Despite being questioned, the suspect provocatively brandished a pistol, leading Shinde to raise an alarm and gather neighbors by shouting 'Chor ale chor ale'.
The commotion attracted a thief inside the bungalow to flee, joining his accomplice waiting outside who quickly sped away on a motorcycle. When the bystanders approached, the suspect fired a shot before escaping with his partner. Subsequently, Police Sub-Inspector Sham Shinde reported the incident to Talegaon Dabhade police, prompting Senior Inspector Kishore Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Bapu Bangar, and Assistant Commissioner Devidas Gheware to respond swiftly.
