Three software engineers and a Mumbai cinematographer staying at Hilltop Mrugavani resort in Hyderabad shared a distressing experience on Saturday midnight, June 22. The local police visited their rooms to reportedly verify their IDs. The staff requested the police to check their Aadhaar cards and other details in the register, insisting on personally inspecting the rooms and beginning to knock on the doors.

One of the guests recounted the incident, expressing feeling unsafe and insecure due to the behavior of the police at 1:30 am at Hilltop Mrugavani resort. The guest sought help and tagged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on social media to bring attention to the situation. Hyderabad techie Arani Majumdar informed Money ncontrol that he initially booked a double room for himself and a friend at Hilltop Mrugavani Resorts.

When two additional friends joined the trip, he requested another room from the resort, which was unavailable. Despite reassurances from the staff, the situation escalated when the police sub-inspector confronted them about four individuals of different genders sharing a room.

The Eagalapenta Sub-Inspector clarified that surprise checks were conducted based on instructions from senior officers. He explained that identity proofs were not provided for all guests in one room, emphasizing the need for collection, especially from unmarried individuals.
