Pune Police have arrested a minor boy from Warje Malwadi and recovered 5 stolen bikes and 3 rickshaws from him. He has been involved in 8 cases of vehicle theft in Warje, Kothrud, Sinhagad Road, Yerawada and Shikrapur police stations.
Senior police officials had instructed to launch a special drive to curb the crimes of vehicle theft. While conducting a parallel investigation into the theft, Superintendent of Police Sai Kumar Karke received information through his correspondents that a thief had stopped at Warje Malwadi with a stolen vehicle. Accordingly, the anti-theft and anti-theft team of the crime branch reached the spot and arrested the boy. On interrogation, he confessed to having stolen eight vehicles. Vinod Badola, ASI Shiv Yadav, SI Ajaibeer Singh, SI Devender Singh, Sub-Inspector (SI) Banay Singh and Late Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma (posthumously) have been awarded president's police medal for gallantry.
Under the guidance of PI Pawar, PSI Kashinath Mahadule, contable Rohidas Khairnar, Sanjay Nand, Sandeep Tayade, Shaikh Gaffar, Abdul Rehman, Deshraj More, Santosh Sankpal and Abhijeet Gaikwad executed the police action.
