The Bolero pick-up vehicle was found to be transporting country-made liquor on the Kondhwa-Katraj road. The anti-dacoity and anti-vehicle theft squad has seized the pick-up van and recovered Rs 4 lakh 12 thousand worth of country liquor from it. Bhagat Ganesh Prajapati (24 years old, Ra. Bagale Malla, Urali Kanchan) have been arrested.(Pune Crime Branch News)
According to the police, a team of police inspector Sandipan Pawar of the Anti-Dacoity and Vehicle Theft Squad was patrolling the crime scene. When they were passing through Katraj-Kondhwa road bypass, police inspector Vinay Yeole saw a Bolero pick-up vehicle moving suspiciously. When they stopped the vehicle and checked the inside, they found 45 plastic cans containing 35 litres each, totaling 1575 litres of village handloom ready liquor worth Rs 1,57,500.
The police recovered Rs. 4 lakh and 12 mobile phones from them.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
