Sachin Ashok Gaikwad (47) The deceased has been identified as Mundhwa.


Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam said that Sachin Ashok Gaikwad and Manohar Ramesh Mane (36, Ra. Mundhwa was arrested at 9 pm on August 7 in a theft case. He has been sent to Vishrambaug police station for medical examination. He was produced before a court in Pune the next day, which remanded him in police custody till August 10. Both were lodged in police custody.

There on 9th August at around 6 o'clock in the morning Sachin Gaikwad felt dizzy. He was immediately rushed to Sassoon Hospital. He was admitted to the ICU and was undergoing treatment. He was operated upon at 9.30 am after it was found that he was suffering from brain haemorrhage. He's had this problem before. His family knew it. (Pune Crime News)

He was remanded to police custody after expiry of his judicial custody.
He died last evening while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Maharashtra Police.
