Pune: Elderly Man Attempts to Murder Shopkeeper Over Old Dispute, Arrested

Satish Murlighar Dhole (60 years) The accused has been identified as Vaishnavi Devi Heights, Sukhsagar Nagar, Kondhwa.
Kartikey Dashrath Rane (23). A complaint has been lodged at Bibvewadi police station. The incident took place at a puja material shop outside the Shani temple in Lower Indiranagar on Saturday evening.

According to the police, the accused and the victim live in the same neighbourhood. Rane owns a shop selling puja material outside the Shani temple in Lower Indiranagar. Last year on Diwali 2023, when Satish Dhole came to his puja material shop, he had a minor dispute. Dhole always used to talk to Kartikesh Rane about this old dispute. There was a crowd of devotees in the temple on Saturday. Devotees also visited Rane's shop. Rane came to Dhole while selling puja materials at the shop. While talking to the complainant, Dhole went behind Rane's back. Suddenly, he squeezed Rane's hand. "Do I want to die or do I want to kill you," Dhole said and tried to stab the complainant on the right side of his neck in an attempt to kill him. The victim sustained injuries on his left hand when he tried to grab the knife. Satish was arrested on the spot. The police watchdog is investigating.
