The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has banned the installation of loudspeakers with more than 100 watts in every Ganesh mandala and barred the inclusion of more than 30 players in the drumming team.

The tribunal also said that the size of the mandap and the schools, hospitals, residential buildings in the area should be considered.
"The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board should measure the noise pollution level at three places in the vicinity of the mandap of every Ganesh mandap every day.
The sound pollution level of the previous day should be recorded by putting up boards at two places on the facade of each Ganesh mandap.
It should also be written on these boards that noise above the limit is dangerous for health. The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) will be responsible for this, "the tribunal said.
