Hyderabad's Rachakonda Police Commissioner, Tarun Joshi, has suspended two police officers for allegedly mishandling money confiscated during a vehicle check leading up to the Lok Sabha elections. The suspended officers, Head Constable Sai Kumar and Constable Karthik, both from the Rachakonda Armed Reserve, had intercepted Krishna and Srikanth and seized Rs 25 lakh at Karimguda in Medipally. However, an investigation revealed that the officers had officially recorded only Rs 19 lakh, implying that they may have kept the remaining sum for themselves. Upon Srikanth's report to senior officials, an inquiry was conducted, resulting in the suspension of the two officers by the Rachakonda Police Commissioner. Additionally, Ranjith, a friend of the implicated officers who had supposedly alerted them to the cash transfer, was found deceased at his residence in an apparent suicide two days prior. Ranjith's family informed authorities that he was distressed by recent events, potentially leading to his tragic decision. Authorities are now probing whether the two officers were involved in similar incidents.
