The Salar Jung Museum, along with the Deccan Heritage Academy Trust, marked International Museum Day with a lavish celebration last Sunday. ICOMOS India South Zone coordinated the event, with backing from JBR Architecture College, the Department of Design at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, the Telangana Sculptors and Artists Association (TSAA), and Telangana Tourism.
During the event, Professor Deepak John Mathews presented a keynote speech on 'Museum Education and its Future,' emphasizing the importance of technology in museum education and showcasing IIT Hyderabad's projects. Exhibitions showcasing 'Voice of Heritage' winners, the Telangana Sculptors and Artists Association, and the Department of Design at IIT Hyderabad were unveiled by esteemed guests.
Professor J Gayatri, Director of JBR Architecture College, voiced support for heritage training initiatives and pledged continued cooperation with ICOMOS India and the Deccan Heritage Academy Trust.
