Small-time court translator caught taking Rs 25 lakh bribe to get verdict in favour

Mumbai: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a translator interpreter of a small court in Mumbai for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 25 lakh from a hotel owner. (Mumbai Bribe Case)

The accused has been identified as Vishal Chandrakant Sawant (43). The complaint was filed by a 66-year-old man.The claim of the complainant regarding the ownership of the hotel was pending in the mini-judgment court at Dhobi Talao at the final stage.

Vishal Sawant demanded a bribe of Rs 25 lakh from the complainant saying that he would settle the claim in favour of the complainant. His complaint was verified with the umpire at Hotel Kamat on LT Marg on Monday. Vishal Sawant was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 25 lakh from the complainant.
