A young boy in the tenth grade has been arrested in Karnataka for allegedly killing his aunt after she rejected his inappropriate advances, as reported by the police on Wednesday. The tragic event occurred in a village near Uppinangady town in Dakshina Kannada district.

Authorities discovered the body of a 37-year-old woman under suspicious circumstances at her home on Sunday night. The accused minor boy had been present at the woman's residence on Sunday and reportedly made unwanted sexual advances towards her while she was asleep.

When the woman, who was his maternal aunt, resisted and reprimanded him, instructing him to behave appropriately, he confessed to the police that he smothered her to death with a pillow out of fear that she would expose his actions to others. Following the murder, he informed his father that the woman had passed away from a heart attack.

However, the police harbored suspicions about the boy upon discovering the woman's body, especially after his father disclosed scratches on the boy's back. During police interrogation, the boy admitted to using a pillow to suffocate his aunt, explaining that he likely received the scratches as she tried to fend him off in an attempt to escape.
