Hyderabad's Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), in partnership with multiple police units, successfully reimbursed Rs.31.29 crore to cyber fraud victims. This reimbursement was made possible through Lok Adalat programs organized by the Telangana Legal Services Authority statewide from February 20 to June 6.

Facing concerns from many victims regarding delays in bank refunds, TGCSB director Shikha Goel expedited refund orders through pre-litigation cases in Lok Adalat. To enhance the efficiency of the refund process, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was developed and circulated to all district legal services authorities, senior superintendents of police, and commissioners of police in February.

A total of 5,142 refund petitions were submitted to the court, resulting in refund orders amounting to Rs.31.29 crore. Shikha Goel highlighted that this effort represents a significant advancement in offering prompt financial assistance to cyber fraud victims and establishes a new benchmark for cyber security and legal responsiveness in Telangana.
