A case has been registered at the Kapurbawdi police station in Mumbai's Balkum. The officials of the revenue department lodged a complaint at the Kapurbawdi police station. Thereafter a case was registered. The mangroves were destroyed by dumping mud and silt near the water channel at Bachchoom. A complaint in this regard was lodged by environmental activists.


Following the complaint, the Sub-Committee on Conservation and Control of Onion Forest inspected the site on June 6. At that time, it was found that the mangroves at survey number 38 and 59 were destroyed by large-scale filling. Finally, the officials filed a complaint at the Kapurbawdi police station. A case has been registered under Sections 15 and 19 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986.
