Abdul Nassar, a resident of Kannur district in Kerala, overcame adversity to become an IAS officer without taking the UPSC exam. After losing his father at the age of 5, he and his siblings faced financial difficulties and sought help from an orphanage. Abdul began working at age 13, taking on various odd jobs while continuing his studies. He pursued his education, obtaining a post-graduate degree in 1994, and later secured a position in the Health Department of Kerala through a competitive examination. Recognizing his dedication to public service, Abdul was appointed Deputy Collector in 2006 and eventually rose to the rank of IAS officer in 2017. His remarkable journey from orphanage to civil service exemplifies the transformative power of hard work and determination.
