Hinjewadi : Hinjewadi (IT city or IT Hub of Pune ), the village deity of Wakad and the traditional Bagad procession of Lord Mahatoba, the place of worship of the villagers of Panchkroshi, has a history of hundreds of years. Like every year, this year too, Bagad procession was organized in a traditional manner. This time the Bagad procession was carried out with great enthusiasm by chanting the name of Mahatoba.
On this occasion, a large number of villagers from Hinjewadi, Wakad and Panchkroshi had gathered to watch the Bagad procession.
At about five o'clock in the evening of the 23rd, the Bagad procession began with the sound of the Halgi Tutari, blowing the flute. On this occasion, the villagers... "Pais..Pais...mahtobachya navane changbhal.... "The crowd left the area chanting the name of Mahatoba. Meanwhile, as per the tradition, the villagers and gardeners of Hinjewadi village come together at the Holi Paitha ground. As the honor of being a galkari as per the tradition is given to the youth of Jambhulkar Wada, Umesh Digambar Jambhulkar was announced as the galkari of this year by the dignitaries. Atul Sakhre and Sangram Sakhre won the award for being shoulder to shoulder this year. At about five o'clock in the evening, the khandekaras brought the ghalakara to the ground on a Holi footing and paid money in a shrill voice.
The procession began with the chanting of the name of Mahatoba. In the presence of thousands of devotees, Bagad entered Wakad village through Hinjewadi Gaonthan, Kasturi Chowk, Bhumkar Vasti, Kemse Vasti, Wakadkar Vasti, Bhujbal Vasti. On the way, cool water was supplied by the local villagers. The Bagad procession concluded in a traditional manner at the Mahatoba temple in Wakad. Hinjewadi and Wakad police had made elaborate security arrangements.
