In Group D of the Swami Vivekananda U20 Men’s National Football Championship, Kerala advanced to the quarter finals by defeating Haryana 2-0 at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama ground in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh. The other group match saw Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat playing to a 1-1 draw, with both teams already eliminated from contention. Kerala secured their spot in the quarter finals by winning all three group stage matches, accumulating nine points.

They will face Group B winners Delhi in the quarter finals on Thursday. Kerala dominated their match against Haryana, scoring in the 22nd minute through a header by P. Adil from a corner taken by Akhish Cyril. Ajin A. added another goal in the 80th minute to seal Kerala’s victory. With a total of 11 goals scored and only one conceded in the group stage, Kerala displayed their dominance. Haryana, on the other hand, ended with two wins and one defeat.

In the match between Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, both teams, having lost their previous matches, played out a 1-1 draw with goals in the first half. No matches are scheduled for Wednesday, with Kerala set to face Delhi in the first quarter final on Thursday.
