While the rape of a young woman doctor in Kolkata has sparked outrage across the country, there have been repeated instances of nurses and female doctors in hospitals across the country not feeling safe. A couple of days ago, a woman doctor was allegedly assaulted by a patient and his relative at Sion Hospital in Mumbai. A shocking incident has taken place in Uttar Pradesh. A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a doctor at a private hospital.

The case was registered on the complaint of the victim's father. It happened on the evening of August 18. Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar said a case has been registered in this connection.
On Saturday night, the 20-year-old victim appeared on her shift at 7 pm. She has been in the hospital for the past seven months. Superintendent of Police Meena said that Mehnaz, another nurse at the hospital, and Junaid, a ward boy, had called the victim to the doctor's office. I asked him to meet Shahnawaz. However, when the victim refused, Mehnaz and Junaid forcibly locked her up in a room on the top floor.

Dr. Shahnawaz then raped the victim in that room and kept her captive there. He also threatened to kill her and hurled casteist slurs at her, told PTI.

On the complaint of the victim's father, the police arrested nurse Mehnaz, ward boy Junaid and a doctor. Shahnawaz has been arrested. The Chief Medical Officer of the hospital, . After the order of Kuldeep Singh, the hospital was locked. Police said further investigation is underway.
A woman doctor was attacked by a patient at a hospital in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Monday.
