HANOI: Vietnam's northern provinces have closed airports and ordered people to evacuate as typhoon Yagi is expected to make landfall on Saturday afternoon.

The typhoon killed two people and injured hundreds in the Chinese province of Henan.

Meteorologists have described Yagi as one of the most powerful storms in the past decade.
