Karimnagar: In the textile hub of Sircilla near Karimnagar in Telangana, a weaver reportedly took his own life by ingesting a lethal acid due to his inability to clear his debts, according to the police on Saturday. Kudikyala Nagaraju (42) ingested the acid on Friday afternoon and died while receiving treatment at a hospital.
Police reported a case of questionable death after his wife filed a complaint. The reported suicides of handloom weavers as a result of financial issues stemming from lack of work and sufficient income have frequently been exposed.
