Woman drugged, raped by friend, accused arrested

Badlapur: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and raped by two of her friends in Badlapur. A case has been registered against the accused at Badarpur police station.

The victim was identified as Bhumika Meshram, a resident of Badlapur East. A few days ago, Bhumika invited her friend home for her birthday. She also invited two of her friends to her birthday party. Bhumika is alleged to have spiked the youth's drink after a night-long party. Two of his friends then raped the girl. When the girl did not return home the next day, her parents informed the police. The parents then took the girl home. After coming clean, the girl realised that she had been raped.

The parents then informed the police about the incident. A case has been registered in connection with the rape of the minor girl. According to the Badlapur East police, the three arrested persons have been identified as Bhumika Meshram, Shivam Raje and Santosh Rupwate, all hailing from Satara.
