Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Congress for reportedly considering an inheritance tax, comparing it to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's actions. Adityanath made these comments during a rally in Malegaon, Maharashtra, while campaigning for BJP's Dhule candidate, Suresh Bhamre. He emphasized that the BJP aims to not only gain power but also to advance India's development.
Adityanath expressed confidence in Narendra Modi's return as prime minister, stating that only the BJP and its NDA allies can ensure national security. He accused the Congress and the INDI alliance of lacking leadership, coherent policies, and a clear vision, likening the Congress manifesto to that of the Muslim League. Further more, Adityanath alleged that the Congress intends to grant reservation benefits for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities to Muslims, drawing a parallel between inheritance tax and Aurangzeb's 'jizya' tax.
He claimed that the opposition sees elections as an opportunity for corruption, in contrast to the BJP's goal of strengthening India's global standing post-2014. Adityanath highlighted the significance of the Ram temple construction in Ayodhya, stating that it reflects the sentiments of India's population. He warned against pro-Pakistan sentiments, asserting that those who praise Pakistan should seek opportunities there instead of in India. Adityanath commended PM Modi for uplifting 25 crore people out of poverty and praised Road minister Nitin Gadkari's infrastructure initiatives under Modi's leadership.
