Bengaluru: On Wednesday, Bengaluru witnessed a ‘ Zero Shadow Day ’, between12:17 pm and 12:23 pm, when shadows of people dissolved for a short period of time during the miracle. The Indian Institute of Astrophysics Bengaluru had before posted on X, informing about the the celestial event.
Bengaluru gests this unusual miracle twice a time — one around April24th / 25th and the other on August 18th. The Zero Shadow Day is a rare miracle that takes place twice a time in location positioned between 23.5 and-23.5 degrees latitude, as stated in the ASI website. “For people living between +23.5 and -23.5 degrees latitude, the Sun's declination will be equal to their latitude doubly formerly during Uttarayan and formerly during Dakshinayan. On these two days, the Sun will be exactly above at moon and won't cast a shadow of an object on the ground.
This Zero Shadow Day will easily be different for different places on earth, ASI website mentions. The Astronomical Society of India(ASI) explains this circumstance saying that when the sun is directly at the meridian position, it does not cast a shadow on any object, therefore shadow of all objects and living beings vanish during this event.
Zero Shadow Day is generally witnessed doubly in a time in areas positioned between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. This miracle occurs substantially in locales near the Equator, during the equinoxes where the Sun passes directly above.
